Portonovi Opened the Season with a Spectacular 3x3 Tournament
The two-day sports spectacle Portonovi 2k25 Lite Quest officially opened the new season of the 3x3 Montenegro Lob Tour, bringing together the regional basketball elite in the prestigious setting of Portonovi Resort. The winning team, Kodio Podgorica, secured a spot at the renowned Orléans Challenger in France.
A record 35 teams from Montenegro, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina registered for the event, while the top 16 teams, according to the FIBA ranking, qualified for the main tournament. In addition to securing a place on the international stage, teams competed for a €2,000 prize fund, exclusive gift packages, and special prizes from the host - Portonovi Resort.
The tournament was officially opened by Filip Vujadinović, Portonovi Training Studio Manager, who noted that the 3x3 tournament in Portonovi is held for the fourth year in a row.
“Our cooperation with the 3x3 Montenegro organization is on an exceptionally high level. Every year, we work together to raise the quality of the tournament. The final was amazing, but I’d also like to point out to all the other teams that contributed to the event,” said Vujadinović.
He added that the tournament gained international character last year:
“This year, we hosted teams from the region and across Europe. I’d especially mention the team Liman, currently ranked 7th in the world, while Novi Sad is 28th. Kodio managed to win the tournament in that competition, which speaks volumes about their quality,” Vujadinović added.
Boris Sekulić, representative of 3x3 Montenegro, emphasized that the Portonovi tournament is becoming one of the best organized in the region year after year:
“We can be proud of the beautiful location, excellent organization, and high-quality teams. We selected the top 16 teams based on FIBA points, and the tournament lived up to expectations,” said Sekulić.
Before the final, the audience enjoyed an exhibition match between the veterans of Primorje Basketball Club and Jadran Water Polo Club, where legends of local sports reminded everyone of their glory days and delivered a true treat.
As part of the event, a children’s 3x3 tournament was also held in both boys’ and girls’ categories, bringing lots of emotion, sporting passion, and the talent of future champions.
In the boys’ category, the title was claimed by Kotor Basketball Club, who defeated Teodo Basketball Club with a score of 8:5 in a match full of fighting spirit and team play.
Among the girls, the final was thrilling and closely contested – Sea Star celebrated a narrow victory over Primorje Basketball Club with a score of 3:2.
Portonovi 2k25 Lite Quest has once again confirmed its status as one of the most significant sporting events in the region.
